My baby girl is 4!

What a month this is going to be for our family! We have been going non stop since November and things just aren't slowing down. Our sweet Kaylie turned 4 years old yesterday and she had a great birthday with our little family. She gets to have a fun party on Saturday with our friends and family and she is really excited about that. She kept asking to have a party at the park, good things that's what I was planning on doing :)

I also just realized because we left on vacation I never posted about Kendra's birthday. Our big girl turned 10 years old on December 12th and her day was made even more special by being baptized by her Daddy that day. It was an amazing day that we had been waiting for, 2 years later it happened thanks to our amazing Bishop!

Two weeks from today I will be holding my new sweet baby boy! I can't believe it is almost here. I feel like this has been a fairly quick pregnancy, but it has been a painful and unpleasant one also. I'm just looking forward to getting past the delivery and having all my babies in my arms at once.

7 Hours and counting....

My baby boy is already sleeping 7 hours at night and I am loving it! I didn't experience this with Kaylie until she was....well I don't even remember, but I know it didn't happen for a while. Anyway, I read the book On Becoming Baby Wise and I know that has changed the way I am a new mom to my little Lucas. (Thanks Amy!)

Well Lucas Brock will be 5 weeks old tomorrow morning, I can't believe time is going by so fast. He is getting so big, but that's exciting because now he is fitting into 0-3 month clothes, which give me more options...not just cotton bottoms and tops. I tired a dress shirt, pants and a tie on him the other day...the pants were a little big still, but the outfit will fit soon enough. He is a great napper and the only real complaint is his reflux. I started him on some medication for that Friday and have already seen an improvement, which I didn't expect for at least a few days to a week or so. I am so glad, he seemed so uncomfortable every time he ate. Let's just hope that stays good. He is nursing about every 3 hours, sometimes I have to wake him during the day to feed him, but it pays off to have him sleeping so well at night. Before I put him to bed I do feed him 2 hours from his last feeding and that seems to help him sleep longer. He is a wonderful baby, what can I say? I guess he is mine so of course all mom's say that about their little ones.

Kendra and Kaylie are great big sisters, always wanting to hold their baby brother and help me out. I feel so lucky to have 3 wonderful children....well wonderful most of the time! Kendra is in gymnastics once a week and doing great at that. Kaylie is messing up my house about 90% of the day and she is doing super great at that... At the end of the day it can be a little much, but I have to remember they are kids and they will all make messes....I just need to remember that when I am about to go crazy over the 100th mess of the day!

I have been a serious slacker when it comes to taking pictures of the kids. I am going to make a better attempt at that starting this week. I need to get some pictures taken for our Chrismtas cards, but I need to figure out where and what I want them to dress in. The last couple years I have had the girls in dresses, but I think I might make it a little more casual this time around...now that we are adding a boy to the mix! Sorry for the lack of good pictures, I'll try better :)

Spencer...well he is busy working like always, but he's been home a lot more so I am grateful for that. He lends a hand every so often when he has a spare moment, but I know he would help more often if he didn't have to work so much (all day long!!!!!!!!) :) That's me putting on a happy face! He's a good hubby and he is so great with the kids!

Me!!! Wow, haven't taken much time for that lately. I am doing what I do, being a mom. I have been sewing a little bit again. I made a sling and a taggie blanket for a baby shower I went to...they turned out awesome...I was so excited. I then made Brock a taggie last night with Brooke and I'm happy about how it turned out....but I would advise you to NOT iron minky dot fabric, it really screws it up! Well here are the few pics that I have from the last week or so!

I found Kaylie eating a carton of ice cream in the kitchen using 6 spoons & wearing NO clothes! Lucas before I changed his dirty diaper!!!

My happy boy after I changed his dirty diaper!!
Here is where Lucas sleeps... This is the taggie blanket I made for him!
Here is the taggie blanket I made for my friend, who is having a girl!

Don't even ask....she's just silly!!

So much going on!!!

Well as you can see I haven't written for a little while. I have been meaning to, but from this post you'll see I haven't had much time to do so! We have been very busy in this house doing everything from projects in school to taking care of the baby in my belly...LOL.

At the beginning of this month I went on a field trip with Kendra to the Science Museum here in Orlando, it was a lot of fun and I'm glad I had the chance to go with her.
Kendra and I have also been very busy preparing for her Mexico presentation that she did for class last Friday. It was busy work for me...I made homemade tamales, which turned out great! Then I made tostadas and Tres Leche for the whole class. It was yummy and the whole class actually loved the food, I was worried at first because it was different to most of them, but a ton of them wanted seconds. Kendra did such a great job and today she had the chance to be interviewed by her principal on the school's morning news. Here are the videos of her presentation and her interview this morning.
Well I can't get the presentation on here, but here is the interview at least.

As for Kaylie, well you all know she is keeping me busy non stop. Oh my heck, but I love it. I love that we are able to have so much fun at our house and try to keep our sanity at the same time. We may have moments of craziness, but they are over quickly and the fun times mean much more!

Kaylie naps anywhere when she is tired...anywhere! I recently found her on the computer chair, which is very small, taking a nap...naked!
Oh yes, Kaylie is getting more hair! She has enough so that I was able to french braid the top and do piggie tails! She tells everyone "I'm Two!", while holding up 1 finger :) It used to be 4 fingers, so she's getting closer. She definitely has her own sense of style. She is actually picky about what she wears sometimes and cries if she doesn't like it (Mom...does this ring any bells with you?) I guess you never realize what a pain it is until you go through it yourself. I mean, I don't mind that she wants to pick what she is going to wear, but at times I wish she would just not be difficult and wear what I want!
Happy Mother's Day Mom's...very belated! I had a great Mother's Day with Spencer and Kaylie. Saturday afternoon, Spencer took Kaylie shopping for my present, which is not in yet. He got me a ring with Kendra, Kaylie and the baby's birthstones on it. I can't wait to get it. It was mostly Kendra's idea for me to get it, so it means something even more. I'll take a pic when I get it, I think the colors will go together great (pink, purple and blue!!!) Sunday we had a picnic with Spencer's family at the park and had a great time. It was hot and nasty outside, but hey we live in Florida...it's pretty much expected! Kaylie helped me make the cupcakes, she was actually the one that wanted the cupcakes...that girl LOVES frosting!

This weekend we had some special visitors at our house. Josh and Lisa came by before they headed to their new location in Arizona. We sure are going to miss them being so close to us, but at least we get to see them in July at the family reunion. I meant to take more pictures, but forgot of course. I did get a couple of Kaylie and Lisa having a tea party yesterday morning before church...it was way cute!!
However, one of the most exciting parts of the trip was about Kendra. Lisa cut her hair, over 10" and she did a great job! It was only the 2nd or 3rd time Lisa had done this style of hair cut, but she did fantastic! Kendra loves it and was so excited for all of her friends to see it at school today!

BEFORE!

AFTER!!

Stay tuned...we find out what we are having this week!!!

167 Days until Baby's Birth Day!

Yes I know that is like forever away, but I have to say I am getting a little more excited. It is probably because I am really anticipating finding out the sex of our little one. My next appointment is on the 15th and hopefully they'll let me schedule for that following Thursday. They have a 3-D tech that comes in every Thursday. I am however nervous about the 3-D adventure, but I think it will be cool. Laura, my best friend, just had her 3-D done and it was really cool looking...Spencer saw the pictures and wasn't sure what it was....he was however excited the day before when I told him we were doing that. Anyway, I think it will be cool, I'll let you know when that happens.

Other than this growing baby in my belly we have some growing children at home. Kendra is continuing to do great in school, but you can tell the school year is coming to and end for her because she is liking everything a lot less. We are currently working on her last gifted project on Mexico and I know I am more excited about it than she is. She has to give a presentation to the class, write a 2 page paper, do a bibliography and 5 visuals. For the visuals I am making some Mexican food for the kids to try...I am venturing out to try to make tamales. I purchased everything for it yesterday, but now her presentation date has been changed to the 16th instead of the 5th, now I have time to test out my skills in the kitchen. Yes, you should all be worried! She also just finished up a Fantasy planet project, which is pictured below, it was alot of fun for her...she got to think up everything on her own :)

Kaylie is just the funnest little girl ever. She is a handful though and has hit the TERRIBLE TWO'S with a bang! Oh my heck does she make me tired lately, but then she has her days when she is just an angel. Today she is being great so far. I asked her to put her shoes in her room, she said "ok mom". Then I said "no Kaylie, in your room". Her reply while pointing at her shoes sitting right next to mine on the living room floor was "I did". She loves to copy everyone in this house, especially Kendra and myself. Today we worked on the letter C and it was so cute. She loves learning and wants to have school every day. I try to do the best that I can, but of course some days are a little crazy around here. Kaylie loves spending time with Daddy. He had to work the other day at home and he went in the backyard, Kaylie wasn't far behind...she wanted to be right with Daddy to help him :)

My Cupcake & Karate Girl

Yesterday was Kaylie's birthday party. We had it down at the playground just to keep the crowd from our house...it was a lot of fun. It was the perfect day, overcast with the perfect temperature. Kaylie really enjoyed herself and having all of her friends around her...she probably didn't realize the day was about her, well at least not until the cake and singing to her and then opening presents. The present opening took a while, but she loved her presents and told everyone thank you after opening each gift. She really enjoyed licking the frosting off of her cake along with Boston. If you can't tell from the pics her theme was cupcakes. I made her invitation that had a cupcake on it and then found a ton of cupcake items at Target...it worked out perfect! Here are some pics from her party! Thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate with us. And for all of the presents, they were so great!!!

Kendra also had her karate graduation yesterday. It was for a 4 week class she had taken after school on Wednesday's. She really enjoyed it and the graduation was very impressive.
