Meadows Family: 05/01/2007

Last night was Kendra's dance recital. What a crazy night. Jill, Jana and I helped getting her ready backstage between her ballet and ballroom numbers. Boy did we have to move quick, I think she had maybe 12 minutes in between to get changed and for us to sprial curl her hair. Her ballet teachers told me that we should just get some fake hair at Sally's to go over her bun so we didn't have to curl it since we didn't have much time...well we freakin' did it. Kendra looked amazing when we were done with her. So her and Christian went near the stage entrance waiting for their turn and us girls went up on the balcony to watch her. Right after we sat down I asked Jill if Kendra had her earrings on...of course I forgot that part. So I threw off my heels and ran down stairs. When I got into the room I couldn't find the earrings...I was so irritated, I knew I had them. Anyway I found them on the ground thank goodness and rushed to put them on her and then back up stairs. I didn't realize how much time I had, I was able to watch the entire dance before them. However on the way up I stepped in I don't know what, but it was wet and sticky...it was nasty! I just new if I would have done all that running in heels I wouldn't have made it so quickly.

The performance by Kendra and Christian was awesome, they did such a fantastic job. I am so thankful to Jill for taking so much time to teach these 2 the cha cha. Kendra loved it and I can tell that Christian really enjoyed himself up on that stage also. He "owned" that stage! (You had to be there). Anyway, the kids did so great. I wasn't able to tape Kendra's ballet dance during the recital, but I taped it during the rehersal. But I was able to video her ballroom dance...and I have a few cute pictures of the kids getting ready.

So...thanks again Jill, I really appreciate your time and effort in teaching Kendra how to do a little ballroom...I hope there is more to come! Love ya!

Ok so I have had a crazy last couple of weeks. I wish I could say they were completely full of fun and joy, but they weren't. However, the parts of it that were happy and fun are the ones I will of course focus on. But I think it's sad how some weeks can just basically suck and you so easily forget about the parts of the week that were good. I am just thankful that I can look back on my weeks and see pictures that show me how important life and my family are to me. It helps remind me that no matter what kind of crap I have to deal with in my life I have 3 very important people to me that I love and love me.

So, Tuesday was Kendra's last day of school...but Monday I threw the end of the year party for her class. I have to say to all Mom's...if you ever have the opportunity to be a room mom for any of your children's classes, DO IT! It is something that you will be so glad you did, I will never forget how I felt every time I walked into that classroom to help those kids. And the teahcers, well I know that one of them for sure will be a long time friend so I am so glad I was able to do this. Since I have so much to write about this week I will only post a couple pics of this, but you can of course go to my dropshots for all 100+. And as you will see from the pictures, Kaylie was very much a part of this classroom also! Our party theme was "Beach Party". We had about 5 or 6 games, had music playing, at pizza, chips...made beach tote bags, it was a blast!

Kendra's ballet/ballroom recital is tomorrow night. I am very excited to see her ballroom performance. Her and Christian have done so well. Here are a couple videos of her ballroom practices this week, one was a dress rehersal...so cute!

Well Kendra and I love garage sells...we went last Saturday and she got a ton of Barbie stuff and we also got Kaylie her first little bike. She loves it. Last night we actually took her on a ride, myself and Spencer. On the way home she saw a little girl playing ball with her mom. She put her feet on the floor and got off her bike. She then preceeded to play with the little girl. Kaylie is perfect for making friends. And it just so happens this girl is Kendra's age, so I am glad that Kendra may have another friend. This little girl just moved here so she doesn't have any friends here yet.
Kendra pushed her around the house when we got home with her bike. Kaylie was mad when Kendra stopped and then mad again when she started...it was funny, but Kaylie was a meanie!

Last Sunday after church Kendra made her presents for her teachers. She painted something for them on canvas boards, they turned out really cute and her teachers actually did love them. And of course Kaylie joined her for this painting fun! After she finished the presents I got a sheet of paper for them to have fun painting on.

Kaylie fed herself with a fork today...and most of it got in her mouth! Then when she was done, she dumped the rest on her highchair...I hate when she does this. She is always spilling her food somewhere when she is done.

This last week I had a bunch of change in my wallet and I usually split it between Kendra & Kaylie's piggy banks. Instead I decided to let Kaylie put it all in her piggy bank by herself. Her piggy bank plays "It's a Small World" everytime you put money in it. She loved it...it was so cute watching her do this. She was so proud of herself when she'd drop the change in.

And last....today we took Kaylie to Epcot. We weren't there for very long, but she got some pics with some characters, which she didn't like at all. Then we went to this show which we had to leave cause Kaylie wanted to run around and play...then to eat and home! But here are some pics.

Ok, well have a great week everyone. I think I will considering Kendra will be home Monday night and it is summer...so there will be lots of swimming and Disney trips.
