My baby girl is 4!

What a month this is going to be for our family! We have been going non stop since November and things just aren't slowing down. Our sweet Kaylie turned 4 years old yesterday and she had a great birthday with our little family. She gets to have a fun party on Saturday with our friends and family and she is really excited about that. She kept asking to have a party at the park, good things that's what I was planning on doing :)

I also just realized because we left on vacation I never posted about Kendra's birthday. Our big girl turned 10 years old on December 12th and her day was made even more special by being baptized by her Daddy that day. It was an amazing day that we had been waiting for, 2 years later it happened thanks to our amazing Bishop!

Two weeks from today I will be holding my new sweet baby boy! I can't believe it is almost here. I feel like this has been a fairly quick pregnancy, but it has been a painful and unpleasant one also. I'm just looking forward to getting past the delivery and having all my babies in my arms at once.

7 Hours and counting....

My baby boy is already sleeping 7 hours at night and I am loving it! I didn't experience this with Kaylie until she was....well I don't even remember, but I know it didn't happen for a while. Anyway, I read the book On Becoming Baby Wise and I know that has changed the way I am a new mom to my little Lucas. (Thanks Amy!)

Well Lucas Brock will be 5 weeks old tomorrow morning, I can't believe time is going by so fast. He is getting so big, but that's exciting because now he is fitting into 0-3 month clothes, which give me more options...not just cotton bottoms and tops. I tired a dress shirt, pants and a tie on him the other day...the pants were a little big still, but the outfit will fit soon enough. He is a great napper and the only real complaint is his reflux. I started him on some medication for that Friday and have already seen an improvement, which I didn't expect for at least a few days to a week or so. I am so glad, he seemed so uncomfortable every time he ate. Let's just hope that stays good. He is nursing about every 3 hours, sometimes I have to wake him during the day to feed him, but it pays off to have him sleeping so well at night. Before I put him to bed I do feed him 2 hours from his last feeding and that seems to help him sleep longer. He is a wonderful baby, what can I say? I guess he is mine so of course all mom's say that about their little ones.

Kendra and Kaylie are great big sisters, always wanting to hold their baby brother and help me out. I feel so lucky to have 3 wonderful children....well wonderful most of the time! Kendra is in gymnastics once a week and doing great at that. Kaylie is messing up my house about 90% of the day and she is doing super great at that... At the end of the day it can be a little much, but I have to remember they are kids and they will all make messes....I just need to remember that when I am about to go crazy over the 100th mess of the day!

I have been a serious slacker when it comes to taking pictures of the kids. I am going to make a better attempt at that starting this week. I need to get some pictures taken for our Chrismtas cards, but I need to figure out where and what I want them to dress in. The last couple years I have had the girls in dresses, but I think I might make it a little more casual this time around...now that we are adding a boy to the mix! Sorry for the lack of good pictures, I'll try better :)

Spencer...well he is busy working like always, but he's been home a lot more so I am grateful for that. He lends a hand every so often when he has a spare moment, but I know he would help more often if he didn't have to work so much (all day long!!!!!!!!) :) That's me putting on a happy face! He's a good hubby and he is so great with the kids!

Me!!! Wow, haven't taken much time for that lately. I am doing what I do, being a mom. I have been sewing a little bit again. I made a sling and a taggie blanket for a baby shower I went to...they turned out awesome...I was so excited. I then made Brock a taggie last night with Brooke and I'm happy about how it turned out....but I would advise you to NOT iron minky dot fabric, it really screws it up! Well here are the few pics that I have from the last week or so!

I found Kaylie eating a carton of ice cream in the kitchen using 6 spoons & wearing NO clothes! Lucas before I changed his dirty diaper!!!

My happy boy after I changed his dirty diaper!!
Here is where Lucas sleeps... This is the taggie blanket I made for him!
Here is the taggie blanket I made for my friend, who is having a girl!

Don't even ask....she's just silly!!

Just an update...

Well there hasn't been much going on lately. I am ready to have this little guy any moment, seriously! I am totally ready and he is getting so wiggly and it is non stop.

Kaylie has been seeing an alternative medicine doctor for her allergies. It is quite strange, but I think in the long run we will see some results. So far...she was allergic to chicken and eggs, but that was cured. She is now allergic to iron...but that should be cured also. That may sound totally odd and not right, but it is a process called NAET...you can check out their site. http://www.naet.com/. Alot of people don't believe in it, but my SIL and I have been taking our kids there and I am really liking what has happened so far. I can't explain much about it, but if it works on Kaylie and she can get rid of her red eyes and excema then I will be more than happy. We found out last time that Kendra is allergic to fabric softeners....that's just great! We aren't having her worked on just yet, we just did that on our way out because I asked about her.

Anyway, school starts for Kendra in less than 2 weeks, on August 18th. I am very very excited about that. I am now wishing I could have put Kaylie into a preschool this year, but I am also ok with waiting until next year. She is still my baby. I just think it would have been nice for her with the new baby to be able to get out with kids her age. I know she'll love her little brother, but I also know she'll love playing with other kids. If she doesn't go this year then she is for sure going to start next school year.

Well I went to Babies R us Friday and they were having some sort of deal there and they had a company there doing free 3D ultrasounds for 2nd & 3rd trimester women. I was so excited. Baby boy didn't cooperate when I had the first one at the doctors office so I though this would be better. WRONG! This boy had his hand over his face most of the time. I got a small glimpse of his cute face, but not much. I was sad, but at the same time I look forward to seeing what he looks like when he arrives.

On a very sad note...I called a friend of mine who was 19 weeks pregnant, she had an u/s scheduled for this Thursday to get the doctors info and to find out the sex. I gave her a call and told her to head over there...her and her hubby did so. They were closing the u/s deal, but opened back up just for them. As she started to look at the baby the first thing my friend looked for like always was the heartbeat....she has had 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy. Anyway, right away my friend knew there wasn't a heartbeat because of the questions the tech was asking her and the tech confirmed it for them. They went straight to the ER to verify and the baby had no heartbeat at all. She called me later that night and it really didn't sink in for me until the next day when she called me again. I was on the way home and after we hung up as I walked into the house with Kaylie I just held her and cried...she fell asleep in the chair with me. I can't even imagine what she is going through. The baby was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but something happened so now it is Tuesday and they are supposed to get her in. I don't know why the doctors and hospital are being so dumb. I know she won't read this, but our family just absolutely loves her and of course her hubby. They have become close friends of ours since they moved here and this hurts us so bad to see them going through this. I just called today to make sure to put their names on the Prayer Roll at the Temple. They are surely in our thoughts and prayers daily and we hope that they can find some sort of comfort to help get them through this tough time in their lives. I know most of you don't know them and I am not going to say her name cause if you know her you already are likely to know. I just wish there was more I could do for her.

xoxo

Happy Happy!

Well for those of you who don't know about my laptop story, well....one day it got milk on it....and it went bad! Anyway, I lost a ton of pictures on my computer after that because it wouldn't turn on. Tonight I got my laptop out because I was going to call a computer store to see what they would charge to take a look and see if my hard drive was saveable. I tried to turn it on...no luck. I decided maybe I should try plugging in the power cord, it worked! It didn't work fast or very well, but it turned on. I was able to put my computer into safe mode, regular mode was just too too slow. Anyway, I am now moving pictures from that computer to my new desktop...this is taking a very very long time. For some reason my cd burner won't work so I am having to use my USB Memory card that will only fit 64mb...I don't know how much that really is, but I am having to transfer 27 pictures at a time...needless to say I have been doing this for over an hour and once I get to Kaylie's pics I will be up until probably midnight!!!
Anyway, I am just super excited that I now have all my pictures back...now I just need to get online and order some prints for my scrapbooking.

Ok so now for our family...last week was one of the funnest weeks ever. Of course you saw the pics from last Monday after we went swimming, well that was only 1 of 4 times we ended up going swimming last week. So here are some more pics of the fun we had, not all swim pics...

First I want to let you know, especially Jill...cause you think it's funny how much Kaylie loved her medicine. She hates it now! She will take it in a little cup now, but the not by the syringe thingy.

After school on Tuesday while Kendra did her homework, both the girls sat and had a snack together...it was just so cute. I love cute moments like this.

I had also made Kendra some cupcakes because she had wanted them the night before for Family Home Evening, but she also wanted chocolate chip cookies, so we had those for FHE and then I made her these cupcakes for when she got home from school on Tuesday. They were yummy!!!

Wednesday morning Kendra and I both woke up early, so she decided she wanted to try on her Flower Girl dress from our wedding, which we had dyed red/pink. I think it turned out pretty cute, she is going to wear it to Disney next weekend she is here.

Then on Saturday I bought Kaylie and Kendra a little blow up pool for the back yard on the days we don't want to walk 100 yards to the pool. Plus I can let Kaylie play in this without holding onto her...They sure did have a blast though.

Saturday night we went to see Spider Man 3 with 16 other people, that was alot of fun, then we went to Disney Quest (5 floors of videos crap) and we hung out there for about an hour....then we finally went home!!

Sunday, I was the only one that went to church. The other 3 weren't feeling too good and we were having family over at 2:30 for Family Home Evening. We had a good time and Kendra & Christian were able to perform for the family, it was cute. Kendra now has a dress, Jill & I are going to fancy it up on Wednesday.

Kaylie sitting on Auntie Jill's lap eating her corn on the cob...it's so cute!
