NO more Crib for Kaylie!

Well lately Kaylie has NOT wanted to sleep in her crib in her room or pack n play in our room...she has ONLY wanted to sleep in bed with Mommy. So last night I started thinking maybe I should get her a toddler bed and just sell this crib that has never been used. Then Laura made a point that it was a convertible crib and before I did all that I should at least turn it into a toddler bed...so I did. Well it was easier than I thought, all I had to do was take off the front panel and that took a whole 5 seconds...literally. And I spent part of the day trying to call the company and looked on the internet for instructions...then while reading some reviews about the crib I came across someone who had written that it was so great that the instructions on how to put the crib together and how to turn it into the toddler bed and full size bed are on the bottom of the wooden panel that the mattress lays on...isn't that so great???!!! Yes it was. So anyway I brought Kaylie into the room about 20 minutes ago and she immediately tried to climb up on her new bed. That obviously wasn't going to happen...little shorty! Anyway I put her up on it and then just to see what she did I gave her on of her favorite blankies and she layed down...less than 2 minutes later she was sound asleep. Now I have pillows on the floor and I guess I will probably be sleeping in the girls' room just to be there if/when she falls off. I don't want her to be too scared in the dark. Anyway, it's super cute so here are some pictures before she went to sleep.

Special Birthday Pics

I got Kaylie's 1 year pics yesterday and here are some cute things we did. They turned out really good and most of the pictures had the soft touch added around the edges like the last one below and that made them look so much better.

Kaylie 1st Birthday Pics

Ok well her pictures are here and I am sure most of you got them in my email I sent out earlier.
Anyway, after I write this blog I will post the pictures of Kaylie that I have to mail everyone. If you want one, just let me know which one you want by posting a comment on this blog...then I will put it in the mail.

Kaylie had her 1 year appointment last Thursday and here are the stats...
Her head is 17.2" which puts her in the 10th %tile. Her length is 28" which falls in the 18th %tile and then there is her weight, 16.31 lbs. which doesn't really put here on the charts....the nurse said she is below the 0 %tile. The doctor on Thursday said taht I need to feed her more...blah blah blah. Well today I had to take Kendra for her 7 year check up and a shot and I asked Dr. Garcia about Kaylie and he said, given what I told him about her and her eating habits, that Kaylie is just fine. So I am still going to give her a little Pedia Sure every so often, which is expensive as heck, but the nurse Kathy gave me a stack of $2 off coupons and 3 bottles. And she is still on the whole milk which now that she has tasted that nasty (to me at least) Pedia Sure she doesn't like the milk as much...so I am still nursing if I don't think she is getting enough. But I guess nursing is coming to an end for me, I only do it about 2-3 times a day. So anyway, Dr. Garcia said that Kaylie is a very healthy baby and that I shouldn't worry, she is just going to be small because Spencer & I are small.

As for Miss Kendra...well she was surprised today when we got to the doctor and she had to get a shot. Well it was optional, Hep A shot, but I chose to have it done. She did good...she cried a little, but only cause she was scared. As for Kendra's stats, here they are. She is 47 1/2" tall (3'11") and that puts her in the 26th %tile and her weight was 50.2 lbs putting her in the 44th %tile. The doctor said that she has the perfect stature for someone her age. And thanks to her eating so well she didn't have to get blood taken for anemia, which made her very very happy. That one shot was enough for her!

Happy Birthday Kaylie!

Well today was little Kaylie Michele's First Birthday! We had such a fun day. So to start off with, it rained pretty much all day. So the plan to have the party at the playgrounds, well let's just say that didn't happen! That's ok, we just moved the party to our house and guess what??? It didn't rain during the entire party. Of course, that's how things work. It was perfect weather and we were even able to put the bouncy house up and let the kids play in it. We had hot dogs and chips and then we did cake & ice cream. Kaylie didn't have any today because we took her 1 year pictures yesterday and she ate a bunch of it then. I have some pictures of that...it was funny! So after cake & ice cream we did the pinata and the kids loved the candy that came out of this pinata. I picked up some good stuff! Then we opened presents and Kaylie actually joined in on that. The funny part is...I went to have her open another present and she was missing...her cousins took her in her bedroom to play. But she did get some clothes, some great educational toys and an angel fish rocker oh and some money from family in California which will most likely be spent on some clothes and shoes.

We also started Kaylie on Whole Milk today and didn't have a problem at all with that transition. I swear I have been so lucky with Kaylie. She has been breastfeeding for a whole year, but she recently has been great with taking formula the couple times we have had to give it to her and today she took to milk with out a question of what was going on. Anyway, so the day turned out perfect and she is now finally in bed and will hopefully sleep well tonight. I am hoping the milk will help her finally start to sleep through the night.
