My kind of MOM!

I give my kids candy.
We don't eat organic, unless it just tastes good.
I let my kids stay up late on the weekend, sometimes past midnight.
I love TV.
My kids love TV.
I sometimes let my kids watch TV all day on Saturday if it's a lazy day.
Fast food is a weekly deal in our house.
Kaylie's idea of going out to eat is simply McDonalds.
I sometimes swear.
I yell at my kids when they don't listen to me the first 100 times.
Sometimes I have to spank my kids.
I hate dishes and laundry.
I let my laundry pile up sometimes so I have over 4 loads to fold.
Dishes pile up in my sink on a bad day.
I love sleep.
I try to fit a nap into every day.
I have trained my kids to love sleep as much as I do.
I am honest.
I hate being so honest sometimes.
I dislike liars.
I really dislike when I am being lied to.
I didn't have a natural childbirth.
I had 3 c-sections.
I don't like competitive mom's.
I love to save money and get great deals.
I don't think I am a better mom than any other mom.
Correction: I do think I am a better mom than some other mom's.

Am I a good mom?
I think I'm a great mom.
I make mistakes, but try to admit them when I notice them.
I don't worry about keeping up with the "Jone's".
I do what I want to do, not what you want me to do.
I don't think that your way is always the right way.
I don't think that my way is always the right way.
I don't think because I let my kids eat candy and ice cream for dinner I am a bad mom.
I don't think organic is better.
I don't think it's the end of the world if we miss a nap or go to bed late.

I love my family.
I love my four children.
My kids are happy.
I love smiling and laughing.
I love watching my kids smile and laugh.
I love the simple things.
I love hugs and kisses before bedtime.
I love listening to Daddy make up bedtime stories.
I love that my kids want to sleep in my bed.
I love when all 4 kids are in bed in the morning with Mommy & Daddy.
I'm a good mom.
I'm a happy mom, most days.
I am a proud mom, every day.
I love being a wife.
I love being loved by my husband and kids.
Everything I do is for them.

I'm Back!!

So not only have I been super busy, but I decided to start a new blog about my fun craft and cooking days! Check it out, http://sixteen22.blogspot.com/. I can't wait to get started on it.

What's been happening in our life?

We moved! Yes, we are finally out of the 2 bedroom condo and now into a 4 bedroom 3 bath house. Life is fabulous...still messy, but more room!

Kaylie started Pre-K and is having a blast learning. I can't believe she turns 5 in only 3 months! This girl has to be without a doubt...mini ME!

Kendra is in 5th grade, wow! Last year at Elementary school...I'm getting old! She will be 11 years old in less than a month. Do you know what kind of attitude came with 10???? I can't say I am ready for 11!

Lucas is hilarious! He is 2 now and keeps me on my toes. I love the new words he learns every day. He loves to copy everything anyone says or does!

Chaz (Sawyer) is my little Mr. Personality. He is so much fun and the kids have a blast with this little guy. He is 9 months old on the 18th, it's so crazy to think that in 3 months he is going to be a year old.

Spencer is doing great at work and with all of his side jobs we are pretty much back on track for the most part.

Me...well I am busier than I swear I have ever been, but it's great. Of course life isn't all roses, but I can go to bed at night with a smile on my face no matter how challenging the day has been and I can definitely say that I what I have always wanted!

Early Mother's Day & Cute Cousins

We set out to get a picture of the cousins, there are a total of 23! We luckily ended up with having 17 of them there and it was cute chaos! The kids were hungry and tired and not wanting to take a picture! Here are some of the pics!

My sister in law, Joanna, was in town from New York so we were able to celebrate Mother's Day early with her. It was such a fun night with all the Mom's. We had our traditional Curried Chicken Salad, which is my favorite with croissants and romaine lettuce. Then some yummy desserts. My mother in law told us all funny stories about our husbands, which of course made us just laugh! Thank you Judi for an awesome night!

1 Month Old!

I swear I brought my baby boy home from the hospital just the other day...and now he is 1 month old! (last Thursday)! I hate to say time flies by, but it really does. He is my chunky monkey and I just love him to pieces. The kids love having Sawyer finally out of Mommy's belly and I have to agree with them. When I see the rest of my pregnant friends I am so grateful I am no longer pregnant. It was not a comfy pregnancy and I would much rather hold my little man in my arms.

Of course Sawyer isn't doing much yet, but his looks are changing so fast. He is already 10 pounds and to me that is insane. My other babies didn't hit 10 pounds for a while. Heck, Kaylie was only 16 pounds when she was 1 and Lucas was 19...so I am very interested in seeing where Sawyer ends up.

Sawyer was blessed at church a couple weekends ago by Spencer, it was such a special day for me. I love listening to the blessings being given to him as such a small child and to think of what he might do with his life as he grows and gets older.

We haven't been up to much at our house lately, just adjusting to having our new sweet boy home. This weekend we did get a chance to relax as a family. I took Kaylie to run some errands in the morning and Spencer took Kendra on her date night then we watched a movie as a family before we were all off to bed. It was a great weekend and I feel like we all got to really enjoy one another :) It made me very happy.

Here are some pictures of my sweet kids!

My mom and brother Jason also came for a visit after Sawyer was born...too many pics to choose from, but here are a couple. I was so glad to have them here :) They were amazing! We miss them tons!

My Dad came to visit just a couple days after my Mom and Jason left. It was so great to spend time with my Dad...we really miss him too!

Love,
Kate

Say Cheese and more....

Yep, my little Boy has started smiling...he is so sweet! I love just sitting there watching him and then you talk a little sweet and touch his cheeks and he gives you the most precious smile ever.

Our friend, Kathy, came over the other day to cut mine & Spencer's hair. Kaylie decided she too wanted a hair cut...so she sat in the chair and changed her mind, but of course I had to snap a couple cute shots.

There is a town near us called Celebration, actually both of my children were born at the hospital there. During Christmastime they have some fun family things going on and they also have snowfall nightly (soap or something like that). The kids love it and it was a lot of fun.

7 Hours and counting....

My baby boy is already sleeping 7 hours at night and I am loving it! I didn't experience this with Kaylie until she was....well I don't even remember, but I know it didn't happen for a while. Anyway, I read the book On Becoming Baby Wise and I know that has changed the way I am a new mom to my little Lucas. (Thanks Amy!)

Well Lucas Brock will be 5 weeks old tomorrow morning, I can't believe time is going by so fast. He is getting so big, but that's exciting because now he is fitting into 0-3 month clothes, which give me more options...not just cotton bottoms and tops. I tired a dress shirt, pants and a tie on him the other day...the pants were a little big still, but the outfit will fit soon enough. He is a great napper and the only real complaint is his reflux. I started him on some medication for that Friday and have already seen an improvement, which I didn't expect for at least a few days to a week or so. I am so glad, he seemed so uncomfortable every time he ate. Let's just hope that stays good. He is nursing about every 3 hours, sometimes I have to wake him during the day to feed him, but it pays off to have him sleeping so well at night. Before I put him to bed I do feed him 2 hours from his last feeding and that seems to help him sleep longer. He is a wonderful baby, what can I say? I guess he is mine so of course all mom's say that about their little ones.

Kendra and Kaylie are great big sisters, always wanting to hold their baby brother and help me out. I feel so lucky to have 3 wonderful children....well wonderful most of the time! Kendra is in gymnastics once a week and doing great at that. Kaylie is messing up my house about 90% of the day and she is doing super great at that... At the end of the day it can be a little much, but I have to remember they are kids and they will all make messes....I just need to remember that when I am about to go crazy over the 100th mess of the day!

I have been a serious slacker when it comes to taking pictures of the kids. I am going to make a better attempt at that starting this week. I need to get some pictures taken for our Chrismtas cards, but I need to figure out where and what I want them to dress in. The last couple years I have had the girls in dresses, but I think I might make it a little more casual this time around...now that we are adding a boy to the mix! Sorry for the lack of good pictures, I'll try better :)

Spencer...well he is busy working like always, but he's been home a lot more so I am grateful for that. He lends a hand every so often when he has a spare moment, but I know he would help more often if he didn't have to work so much (all day long!!!!!!!!) :) That's me putting on a happy face! He's a good hubby and he is so great with the kids!

Me!!! Wow, haven't taken much time for that lately. I am doing what I do, being a mom. I have been sewing a little bit again. I made a sling and a taggie blanket for a baby shower I went to...they turned out awesome...I was so excited. I then made Brock a taggie last night with Brooke and I'm happy about how it turned out....but I would advise you to NOT iron minky dot fabric, it really screws it up! Well here are the few pics that I have from the last week or so!

I found Kaylie eating a carton of ice cream in the kitchen using 6 spoons & wearing NO clothes! Lucas before I changed his dirty diaper!!!

My happy boy after I changed his dirty diaper!!
Here is where Lucas sleeps... This is the taggie blanket I made for him!
Here is the taggie blanket I made for my friend, who is having a girl!

Don't even ask....she's just silly!!
