1 Month Old!

I swear I brought my baby boy home from the hospital just the other day...and now he is 1 month old! (last Thursday)! I hate to say time flies by, but it really does. He is my chunky monkey and I just love him to pieces. The kids love having Sawyer finally out of Mommy's belly and I have to agree with them. When I see the rest of my pregnant friends I am so grateful I am no longer pregnant. It was not a comfy pregnancy and I would much rather hold my little man in my arms.

Of course Sawyer isn't doing much yet, but his looks are changing so fast. He is already 10 pounds and to me that is insane. My other babies didn't hit 10 pounds for a while. Heck, Kaylie was only 16 pounds when she was 1 and Lucas was 19...so I am very interested in seeing where Sawyer ends up.

Sawyer was blessed at church a couple weekends ago by Spencer, it was such a special day for me. I love listening to the blessings being given to him as such a small child and to think of what he might do with his life as he grows and gets older.

We haven't been up to much at our house lately, just adjusting to having our new sweet boy home. This weekend we did get a chance to relax as a family. I took Kaylie to run some errands in the morning and Spencer took Kendra on her date night then we watched a movie as a family before we were all off to bed. It was a great weekend and I feel like we all got to really enjoy one another :) It made me very happy.

Here are some pictures of my sweet kids!

My mom and brother Jason also came for a visit after Sawyer was born...too many pics to choose from, but here are a couple. I was so glad to have them here :) They were amazing! We miss them tons!

My Dad came to visit just a couple days after my Mom and Jason left. It was so great to spend time with my Dad...we really miss him too!

Love,
Kate

Loving my baby boy!

We recently brought home our new baby boy and what a joy that was. Sawyer Chaz Meadows is a wonderful and gorgeous baby boy, the whole family just loves him like crazy. My Mom and brother Jason were able to spend the first 10 days with us and then my Dad arrived Tuesday night and will be here for a week. I am so grateful for the help that I have from my family...they are awesome!!!

We brought Sawyer home on February 20th and on that following Monday, February 22nd at around 8pm at night I had a bad headache. It was nothing that I had ever experienced in my entire life. My mom and I were on the way to Target and I told her it would be ok if we still went, I thought it would go away. About 5 minutes down the road I knew it wasn't going away...and just started crying, it was so painful. I called my friend Jaimee who thought it might be a brain bleed or a spinal headache and she recommended I drink a high caffeine drink lay down to see how that worked. We got off the next exit, bought a drink and I cried all the way home. Nothing was getting better and I can't say it got worse because it was just horrible from the moment it started. When we got home I knew I was going to the hospital. I asked Spencer for a blessing and while he was doing that my Mom was calling the ER to see what to do...they of course said to come in right away. After arriving there and dealing with the nasty from staff who confirmed that my blood pressure was around 194/110, I was brought to the back. The asked me questions about how bad it was and on a scale from 1-10 what I thought...I told them 100! The ordered a cat scan to make sure there was no brain bleeds or anything else, that came back fine. I was given 2 different blood pressure medications through an IV and that made a world of difference. I stayed in the hospital for 2 days and couldn't wait to get home. I am sure the hospital staff that came in my room felt the same way...I cried whenever someone told me I wasn't going home when I wanted to...I was really homesick and missed being with my kids. I am currently on blood pressure medication, but the doctor said that I can ween myself off of it anytime now. It was not fun what I went through, but it made my decision on Sawyer being our for sure last baby, no questions about it!
