Kendra & Kaylie School

With Kendra starting school, Kaylie has become very anxious to go along with her and learn herself. She gets her backpack ready and shoes on, and then she comes up and tells me, "Mom, I am going to school. Bye, I love you" and then blows me a kiss and heads to the front door. Today I actually thought she'd open the door and leave. During last school year I went to a teacher store and picked up a workbook for her to learn the alphabet. I didn't do it over the summer, but since she isn't going to be able to attend pre-school this year (it's just too expensive), I have started it up again. I was making copies of the pages and now I decided that I would just scan them and then print. That way when this little boy is ready to learn his letters I just have to go to the folder and print…less time. J She is pretty good with all her letters, but I still want to focus on them all individually again. Kaylie for sure knows A, B and C so we started with the letter D, which she knows also, but it had dinosaurs so that was where we decided to start.

Here are some cute pictures of her doing work at her desk in her room. She loves learning her letters. She keeps calling me into the room to tell me something about what she is doing. After this she is going to watch her Leap Frog Letter Factory show and then probably head down for a nap. I am looking forward to what seems like an easy day so far. Kendra gets out of school at 2pm today, since it's Wednesday so she has more time for homework and to help me around the house. She has been such a great helper lately with cleaning up around the house.

Oh yeah, Kaylie had a doctor's appointment on Monday and we discovered that the both of us are allergic to trees. We don't know what specific tree, but Kaylie has been cured of it and hopefully that shouldn't be a problem for her anymore. I know it will be a problem for me until I get to make some appointments for myself, but in the meantime I want to focus on Kaylie. She is looking so much better, less eczema everywhere and her eyes are getting less red and dry, it is wonderful. This doctor deal might seem a bit odd, but it is working and I am happy with that!

What we’ve been up to….

Well I haven't posted for a couple weeks now, but I have been a little busy with growing a child in me and taking care of the children in this home…oh and my hubby! Seriously though, I feel like I have been so busy. I did get a chance to take some time and start making some nursing covers for myself. I love the materials that I have chosen so far, they are super cute.

My pregnancy is going good so far, I am 30 weeks 3 days, only 8 weeks 5 days to go!!! YAH! I can't wait. I am starting to get really uncomfortable though and have recently gotten Restless Leg Syndrome. It is the most horrible thing when you are trying to sleep…your legs tingle and stuff and you have to move them. I hate it!! I love my growing belly, that's something I just love about being pregnant. I don't like that it is in my way, but I love it more the bigger it gets. I am having a hard time with sleeping and my back is hurting really bad lately and actually now that I think about it just sitting at the computer is pretty dang uncomfortable!!

Kendra starts school on Monday; we are really excited about that. She is going to do such a great job in 3^rd grade. Her teachers name is Mrs. Bayer and we get a chance to meet here tomorrow at the school. Kendra isn't with us this week, but Kaylie and I are probably going to run up there in the afternoon to meet here, hopefully Spencer can meet us up there. But if he can't, I at least want to introduce myself and put a face to the name. We are also going to stop by and visit Kendra's teacher from last year, Ms. Mitchell. We just loved her and are going to miss Kendra being in her class…but I know we'll see her and talk to her during the year anyway. She was a great teacher and a great influence on Kendra.

Kaylie is just Kaylie, so sweet and then so loud like her daddy! She isn't up to much lately. We are waiting until next year to put her in preschool…it's just a little expensive right now. But starting in January I am going to put her in ballet. They have a class for 3 year olds and I think it will be great for her to get out and do something like that with other girls her age. I am excited to have her looking like a little ballerina, even though it is 5 months away. She is a handful, but a good one most of the time. She is a great listener when she wants to be…LOL. It's so cute though because she has such great manners already. She said Thank you, or no thank you, please, excuse me and a couple others. It makes me feel good as a parent that she has already learned the importance of these words. This morning I asked her if she wanted eggs and her reply was "no thank you mom". And actually just now I put on a cartoon for her and she said "oh, thank you mom". So sweet!!!

Anyway, I have to get a few things ready for my day tomorrow so I don't have so much to do. Kaylie has a doctor's appointment with a dermatologist for some bumps on her face which her pediatrician has said is molluscum contagiosum. I just want that confirmed and something more done about it than the ped saying "oh it will go away". Yeah, well she has had it since right before she turned 2…time for it to go away!! I'll let you know how that goes!

Just an update...

Well there hasn't been much going on lately. I am ready to have this little guy any moment, seriously! I am totally ready and he is getting so wiggly and it is non stop.

Kaylie has been seeing an alternative medicine doctor for her allergies. It is quite strange, but I think in the long run we will see some results. So far...she was allergic to chicken and eggs, but that was cured. She is now allergic to iron...but that should be cured also. That may sound totally odd and not right, but it is a process called NAET...you can check out their site. http://www.naet.com/. Alot of people don't believe in it, but my SIL and I have been taking our kids there and I am really liking what has happened so far. I can't explain much about it, but if it works on Kaylie and she can get rid of her red eyes and excema then I will be more than happy. We found out last time that Kendra is allergic to fabric softeners....that's just great! We aren't having her worked on just yet, we just did that on our way out because I asked about her.

Anyway, school starts for Kendra in less than 2 weeks, on August 18th. I am very very excited about that. I am now wishing I could have put Kaylie into a preschool this year, but I am also ok with waiting until next year. She is still my baby. I just think it would have been nice for her with the new baby to be able to get out with kids her age. I know she'll love her little brother, but I also know she'll love playing with other kids. If she doesn't go this year then she is for sure going to start next school year.

Well I went to Babies R us Friday and they were having some sort of deal there and they had a company there doing free 3D ultrasounds for 2nd & 3rd trimester women. I was so excited. Baby boy didn't cooperate when I had the first one at the doctors office so I though this would be better. WRONG! This boy had his hand over his face most of the time. I got a small glimpse of his cute face, but not much. I was sad, but at the same time I look forward to seeing what he looks like when he arrives.

On a very sad note...I called a friend of mine who was 19 weeks pregnant, she had an u/s scheduled for this Thursday to get the doctors info and to find out the sex. I gave her a call and told her to head over there...her and her hubby did so. They were closing the u/s deal, but opened back up just for them. As she started to look at the baby the first thing my friend looked for like always was the heartbeat....she has had 2 miscarriages before this pregnancy. Anyway, right away my friend knew there wasn't a heartbeat because of the questions the tech was asking her and the tech confirmed it for them. They went straight to the ER to verify and the baby had no heartbeat at all. She called me later that night and it really didn't sink in for me until the next day when she called me again. I was on the way home and after we hung up as I walked into the house with Kaylie I just held her and cried...she fell asleep in the chair with me. I can't even imagine what she is going through. The baby was supposed to be delivered yesterday, but something happened so now it is Tuesday and they are supposed to get her in. I don't know why the doctors and hospital are being so dumb. I know she won't read this, but our family just absolutely loves her and of course her hubby. They have become close friends of ours since they moved here and this hurts us so bad to see them going through this. I just called today to make sure to put their names on the Prayer Roll at the Temple. They are surely in our thoughts and prayers daily and we hope that they can find some sort of comfort to help get them through this tough time in their lives. I know most of you don't know them and I am not going to say her name cause if you know her you already are likely to know. I just wish there was more I could do for her.
